About Darren Farnsworth
Darren Farnsworth
Original music written, engineered, produced and performed by Darren Farnsworth.

My story unfolds at the intersection of three passions: music, marketing, and motorcycles.

It began in the San Francisco Bay Area, where the pulse of technological innovation met my fascination with sound. I pursued this passion at Cogswell Polytechnical College, studying sound engineering with the dream of capturing musical magic on tape. In 1994, a craving for snow-capped peaks and open spaces drew me to Salt Lake City, where I built a home studio and a haven for musicians under the name "Recording Club." It was here that my own musical journey took flight, starting with my band JEBU, with whom I recorded five albums through the late 90s.

But the call of the open road was just as strong as the pull of the studio. In 1995, a Yamaha XT 350 became my trusty steed. Inspired by "Easy Rider," I knew a short trip wouldn't be enough. In 1997, I embarked on a life-altering, five-month motorcycle journey from California to Honduras. That experience didn't just satisfy my wanderlust; it opened my eyes to the burgeoning world of digital business that was exploding back home.

I returned to Silicon Valley right in the middle of the Dot-Com Era and dove headfirst into the world of web design, databases, and CRM. The logic and creativity felt like another form of composition. In 2002, I brought these new skills back to Utah, applying them in the automotive industry before founding my own digital marketing consultancy.

Throughout my career in tech, music has remained a constant force. It's a journey of over three decades now. I chronicled the complexities of a relationship in an LP with my band Honest Soul, and I’ve had the incredible honor of sharing stages with icons like Black Uhuru, Michael Franti (Spearhead), Charles Bradley, and Jimmie Vaughan while touring alongside artists like Tony Holiday and Jordan Matthew Young.

More recently, the band Crook & The Bluff took me on extensive tours across the U.S. and Europe, culminating in our 2021 album, MONOLITHS. Today, I continue to explore new sonic territory with my latest project, The/Theys.

From engineering soundwaves to designing marketing systems, from navigating Central American highways to touring European stages, my life has been a thrilling ride. This site is where I share those stories. Let's connect and see where the next adventure takes us.
